I FRENCH LANGUAGE EVENING CLASSES FOR ADULTS *

 

You want to take a French language course and you are a group of people (2 to 8)

 

Length of course

4 50-minute periods (2 evenings, 2 periods each)

4 weeks minimum (renewable)

total : 16 periods per month

* A similar type of course (number of weekly hours to be determined by participants) can be set up during the day for non-working spouses of staff and teachers. Moreover, English classes can be taught as well.

 

II WRITING WORKSHOP

 

 You would like to learn how to write correctly in French and/or English?

 

During the first class, class methodology is explained :

 

Teacher sizes up your level and gaps

Teacher determines your specific needs

Teacher explains the method used

 

This workshop can be taken as a regular class or as an on-line class:

 

1. Regular class :

Open to small groups of 2 to 4 students

session lasts one period with optimum use of time as follows :

1. student submits his / her typewritten text to teacher

2. teacher spots and identifies mistakes

3. student tries to correct his / her mistakes and resubmits text

4. teacher finalizes the corrections and gives grammatical explanations

The text length treated in one session is around 1 to 2 A4 pages

(200 to 400 words)

2. On-line class :

A one period session involves the exchange of 4 e-mails :

e-mail 1 : student sends original text to teacher

e-mail 2 : teacher sends text to student after

               Spotting mistakes

               Identifying mistakes

e-mail 3 : student sends text back to teacher after

               Correcting mistakes

e-mail 4 : teacher sends text back to student after

               Final corrections with explanations

 

The text length treated in one period amounts to 1 to 2 A4 pages (200 to 400 words)

Fees : CHF 40 per period per student

  

 

III SCHOOL HELP FOR LEYSIN CHILDREN

 

Your child goes to a Swiss French-speaking school.

You do not have time nor the means to help your child with his/her school homework.

We can help your child improve his/her French written and oral comprehension through dictations, grammar, vocabulary, games.

We can also help your child with homework or other classroom assignments.

These classes will meet Monday through Thursday after school. 

 

Fees per period

1 pupil      = CHF 30

2 pupils    = CHF 25 each

3 pupils    = CHF 20 each

4 pupils    = CHF 15 each

5 or more  = CHF 10 each

 

Parents are encouraged to register their children in groups of 2 to 8.

 

 

IV TRANSLATIONS

 

We can translate any type of document from French into English or English into French.
